Summer Eating: Blueberry Grunt

Summer berries, a biscuit, and freshly whipped cream are all you need to make a delicious dessert.  This blueberry grunt from The Culinary Chase is a seasonal dessert that will knock your socks off.  The thick purple sauce is baked with buttery dumpling until they become one.  Serve with whipped cream or even vanilla ice cream.

Blueberry Grunt

Ingredients:

4 cups fresh wild blueberries
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1/2 cup water
Dumplings:
2 cups flour, sifted
4 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon sugar
3 tablespoons butter
milk
