Sexy Cedar Smoked Asparagus Soup

Cedar planks are not just for fish anymore. Try making this springtime treat even more exciting, by roasting the asparagus on cedar plants. Imbibed with the delicious scent of the wood, asparagus soup just became even more luscious. 

Cedar Smoked Asparagus Soup

cedar plank, for smoking (cooking grade with no varnish)

1 medium Bunch of Asparagus, 20-25 sized stalks, trimmed
2 tablespoons Olive Oil
1 teaspoon Balsamic Vinegar
Leeks, white and light green parts only, well washed and finely diced
Garlic Cloves, minced
1 medium Yukon Gold or Russet Potato, peeled and diced
