Cookies For Christmas

December 4, 2014

The holiday season means plenty of gift giving. Everyone loves to receive handmade gifts, especially when they are delicious and made with love. We have our favorite classic cookies and still try to find something new each year to add to the cookie plate.

Cookies also make for wonderful ways to meet and greet the neighbors. Set up a cookie exchange with a few friends, and bake that many dozen cookies. Then, meet up for plenty of good conversation and of course, cookies! You will each go home with enough cookies to last the season and perhaps find a new cookie recipe to love.

Start with some of these delightful cookies:

Classic Shortbread

From Alishaenid

You can never go wrong with a classic cookie like the shortbread. It's rich buttery flavor is so satisfying. This is a particularly wonderful version and we think it belongs on any cookie plate.

Easy Pumpkin Peanut Butter Cookie

From The Big Man's World

Not just the beloved peanut butter, but peanut butter and pumpkin. What a delightfully moist and tender flavored cookie this one is. Aren't they pretty? Not too sweet, these taste even better with a cup of tea and a room full of friends.

Cocoa Meringue Mushrooms

From Cakes and More

Add a touch of whimsy to your food gift by adding a few of these delightful Mushroom cookies made from light-as-air meringue.

Raspberry Rugelach

From The Little Epicurean

If you are looking for something a bit more fancy, these raspberry rugelachs are absolutely beautiful and delicious. They are flaky dough filled with fresh raspberry filling, and their pinwheel shape adds a bit of class to your gift. So, tasty and lovely. The perfect addition.

Peppermint Hot Cocoa Cookies

From Gluten Free Mom

These cookies are like little bites of brownie, stuffed with bright peppermint filling. What could be better than that? Definitely a kid friendly treat, we like to say these have a bite sized sparkly flavor.
