Immune Boosting Berry Green Smoothie Recipe

December 19, 2014

I start nearly every morning with some type of smoothie. Sometimes it’s veggie packed, other times it’s simply yogurt and fruit-based. For the liquid in all my smoothies I like to use coconut water as opposed to fruit juices, such as orange, as it’s much lower in sugar and calories. I also add a teaspoon or a tablespoon of coconut oil and bee pollen, both known for their various health benefits including their potential immune boosting properties. Flaxseed meal also has powerful nutritional components such as heart-healthy Omega-3s, the highest amount of lignans (which are high in antioxidants) than any other plant food, and both soluble and insoluble fiber. This healthy smoothie recipe will keep you going strong all morning long and hopefully help you stave off winter’s colds and flus. Here’s to staying healthy!
