As I was perusing the Easter candy sale aisle today, the rows of peeps without a home compelled me to buy a few extra boxes. This year, I bought sour peeps for all my little chefs, and they ate them up first! Bright green on hte outside and pink bodies underneath all that sour powder, I still haven't dared try one. Now, Peeps aren't really my favorite candy, unless they are used as an ingredient in another recipe and I love the one that Taste of Home suggested we use.
The peeps sit atop a tasty cake making it look like a sunflower. The final touch are the mini chocolate chips that make the center of the sunflower, full of seeds. It's the perfect cake for spring, and peeps get a new job. It's a cute look for a tasty dessert.
