Oysters Rockefeller

May 12th, 2008 by Sheri Wetherell · 4 Comments

I love oysters on the half shell, but if they’re too big and briny they can kinda make me gag. But, the big ones are good for one thing: Oysters Rockefeller.
Oysters Rockefeller were created at the famous Antoine’s, owned by Antoine Alciatore, in New Orleans and were named after the richest man at the time, [...]

Potato Salad

May 10th, 2008 by Sheri Wetherell · 2 Comments

I have a bit of Irish running through my blood so genetically I love potatoes. Baked, gratin, mashed, fried, hash browned, and I will even admit it, Tater Tots.
Tonight we’re barbecuing with our friends and nothing goes better with ribs than a good potato salad (and corn bread and coleslaw, but Irish girl here is [...]

April 21st, 2008 by Sheri Wetherell · 3 Comments

Pacific Northwest Bouillabaisse

April 3rd, 2008 by Sheri Wetherell · 2 Comments

Barnaby has the uncanny ability to look into the fridge and be able to whip up some fabulous gourmet meal. I, on the other hand, will take a look and immediately say, “We have nothing, nothing at all. We need to go to the store.”
Last night was one such night. I saw nothing and Barnaby [...]

Panir Sabzi

March 7th, 2008 by Sheri Wetherell · 4 Comments

The other day Barnaby and I decided to check out the new Persian restaurant down the road. Unfortunately, it had been years since I last had Persian food. But that is going to change! Why had I waited so long? It’s so Puurrrrsia-licious! Wonderfully fragrant cinnamon, saffron, sumac and mint are just a few [...]

Minty Peas

February 20th, 2008 by Sheri Wetherell · 1 Comment

This is such an easy recipe for peas, and a nice change to the ordinary steamed preparation. Fresh mint adds a boost of flavor and a wonderful contrast to the sweetness of the peas. And, you won’t have to chase the peas around your plate with a knife and fork!
Minty Mushy Peas
2 T olive [...]

Dry Soda

February 16th, 2008 by Sheri Wetherell · 2 Comments

Hi, my name is Sheri and I’m a DRY Soda-aholic. There, I said it. I’m not ashamed of it. If you tasted these you would be addicted too.

DRY Soda Co. is a Seattle-based company that produces all-natural sodas. Really, they are non-alcoholic so you won’t have to worry about losing your job and living [...]
