As with any fresh meat, temperature is key to preservation. You can tell (before odor begins) that lamb is stil fresh because it will have the pinkish tint. If meat has any brown or greenish hue, it's best to discard. If you have seasoned and are marinating the lamb; the meat will stay fresh up to seven days in a standard home fridge at normal settings (when properly sealed in airtight container).
