I found that with my grandkids- I would have them help me prepare something with the undesired item - then sit down with them and tell them what a good job they did- that the skins were your favorite part. They mimic what you do quite often. - try making an apple dip together- peanut butter & agave, or yogurt- have him prepare it with you. If that doesn't work- focus less on the fact that he won't eat the skins and more on the fact that he is eating the apple.
My grandkids will eat; sea beans, mushrooms, swiss chard, spinach and parsnips. But fresh tomatoes? They're a tough sell. They'll now eat them with a pinch of salt though!
You don't need to be old to be a grandparent. Try slicing the apples up into thin slices. I love peanut butter on apple slices too!! But kids get enough fat in everything else they eat.
I was going to say the same thing put peanut butter on some apple slices.or you can always make candied apples or carmel apples but that maybe too much sugar
