I learned that tea bread is very similar to a quick bread but with fewer eggs and only slightly sweetened. It's also best served on the same day it's baked, of course, with some tea.

I was pleasantly surprised at the beautiful crumb this cake had. As things usually go, I cannot leave anything completely white, so I added some wholemeal flour to it and still the cake turned out light and moist
