Chaparral

Chaparral is a shrubland or heathland plant community found primarily in the U.S. state of California. It is shaped by a Mediterranean climate (mild, wet winters and hot dry summers) and wildfire. The Chaparral is a coastal biome with hot dry summers and mild, rainy winters. Droughts are very normal during the summertime. The Chaparral area gets about 38–100 cm (15–39 in) of precipitation a year and has an average temperature of 40 °C.
