Sapotes

A Sapote is a round, plum to medium apple sized fruit whose colors range from pale green, yellow gold or brown. They are considered a most confusing fruit because of its unique taste.

The name comes from the Aztec word "Tzapotl" which means "soft". When mature, the sapote's flesh is custardy with the texture of an avocado. It has a taste that resembles a banana flan with a bit of mango.
