About

Wafu dressing is a vinaigrette-type salad dressing based on soy sauce, popular in Japan. "Wafu" is a generic name for Japanese style soy sauce-based vinegrette, but a company named Mari's Foods Inc. now uses the trademarked name.

Preparation and Use

Use as a salad dressing, or as a dipping or marinating sauce. Try in a salad with:
* Shredded Japaneses Cabbage
* Frisée
* Tomato Slices
* Japanese Cucumber Slices
* Avocado Slices

Conserving and Storing

Unopened - in cool, dark cabinet. Opened - in refrigerator, tightly capped. If it develops a strange odor, discard.

Social/Political

Very popular in Japan.

History: "Wafu" means "Japanese style." Restaurant in Japan use the word wafu for salad dressing/sauce, the understand will be that the sauce will be soy sauce base, and not necessarily the brand "Wafu."
