The geoduck ( "gooey duck"), ''Panopea abrupta'', is a species of very large saltwater clam, a marine bivalve mollusk in the family Hiatellidae. A large salt water clam native to the Pacific Northwest. Its name means "dig deep" in Nisqually Indian. It is prized for its exceptionally long neck, which is condsidered a delicacy, especially in Japanese cuisine.
