This lovely old variety was first introduced to Britain in 1858 and is one of the largest, juiciest and sweetest of pears.The smooth luscious flesh just melts in your mouth (and the juice dribbles down your chin if you are not careful)! It is a lovely golden yellow blushed with red, and is very fragrant and aromatic.
