Naga Viper is a hybrid pepper with a Scoville rating of 1,340,969 SHU’s (Scoville Heat Units) making it the hottest chili pepper in the world. Gerald Fowler developed the Naga Viper by cross-breeding three other hot chili peppers: the Bhut Jolokia, Naga Morichi, and Trinidad Scorpion.

As of December 3, 2010, it was certified the world's hottest chili pepper by Warwick HRI and will be featured in the Guinness Book of World Records.
