Hawaii Apple

Everyone I grew up with preferred "Golden Delicious" Apples (the yellow ones). Some of my more "unique" friends liked Granny Apple (green ones - sour). Until my wife and I went to the islands last year, I had never tried an Hawaiian Apple, at the time I never even thought I'd ever miss it. A few months later, when fall hit, everyone was talkin' about which apple would make the best pie.....that's when it hit me: Hawaiian Apple.......my friend thought I meant "pineapple", but the people I met know what I mean, and would agree with me 100 percent.
