Artisan Steak Tasting Supper
When: Monday, August 30, 2010 7:00pm

What: It’s Like A Wine Tasting, But With Steaks!™ This 4 course meal starts with an interactive expert panel led by Carrie Oliver, founder of The Artisan Beef Institute, discussing how ranchers, butchers, and chefs influence the flavor and texture of beef. Followed by a blind tasting of steaks from 4 different ranch and butcher teams, each of whom specializes in a specific breed, diet, husbandry, and aging technique. Includes wine. Theo Chocolate Factory Tours
When: Saturday, August 28th & Sunday, August 29th during the conference. , at one of the following times:
- Saturday 2:00 – 2:15 during lunch
- Saturday 5:45 – 6:00 and 6:15 – 6:30 during pre-dinner reception
- Sunday 1:15 – 1:30 and 1:45 – 2:00 during lunch
- Sunday 4:05 – 4:20 prior to screening of Today’s Special
Where: Theo Chocolate Factory: 3400 Phinney Ave N, Seattle, WA 98103. Tour groups will meet on the sidewalk outside of the conference space, on the corner of 34th Street and Phinney Avenue.
What: Tour Theo Chocolate Factory and learn all about cacao, from the extraordinary transformation of the cacao fruit into what we know and love as chocolate, to the social and environmental issues relating to cocoa and cocoa farmers. Best of all, you can sample Theo’s delicious products!

Urbanspoon Seattle Scene Party

What: Following the IFBC reception, Urbanspoon will host wine and appetizers between 8 and 10PM at Seattle’s Purple Café!
RSVP: No reservation necessary, however the private room at The Purple Café and Wine Bar has a capacity of 80 people.
