Butter Fried Apples

Ingredients

6 Jonathan Apples (ONLY Jonathans, since no other apple holds their flavor
1/2 cup brown sugar
cinnamon, cloves to taste

Preparation

Prepare apples; melt butter in shallow large skillet; add apples and saute until just lightly soft; add brown sugar and stir in to butter and apples until bubble; add cinnamon and clove to taste.

PERFECT with pork roast or chops; baked chicken or turkey for a tangy sweet side.
My mother would pick apples every fall from the 6 Jonathan trees we had in our yard and we would store them in the cool basement through the winter. This was a standard at many Fall meals when there were any left ferom the apple butter and pies baked.
She learned it from her mother (Gertrude) and from her grandmother (from Holland)
