Whisk flour, salt, soda and cocoa in a small bowl; set aside. Cream butter and sugar in large bowl.
Add almond extract and eggs, beat well.
Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture a little at a time, stirring just until combined.
Stir in vanilla chips and almonds. Drop by heaping teaspoons onto greased baking sheet. Bake in 350 degree oven 8 to 9 minutes. Do not overcook.
