Cynthia Furey is an editor and freelance food writer living in Southern California. She currently is a contributing editor for Orange Coast magazine, where she writes a monthly feature about what chefs cook when they're at home. She also writes "Food 101" afor The Orange County Register, column with original recipes that's aimed at helping newbie cooks get over their fear of the kitchen. Furey is also a Zagat Guide editor, and copy editor for Leite's Culinaria, a James Beard award-winning Web site.
