Christine Blubaugh

Hello, all. My name is Christine, and I'm an alcoholic. No, I'm just kidding about the alcoholic thing, but I do have an addiction to the sound of my chef's knife striking a wooden cutting board, quickly, repeatedly as I chop and dice and slice my way toward complete culinary satisfaction. I wake in the morning with thoughts of breakfast and lay in bed at night concocting recipes for tomorrow's dinner. My boyfriend thinks I have a problem (but secretly loves not having to cook).

I'm a big fan of knowing where my food comes from. It's a pleasure shaking hands with the farmer who's fingernails are still caked in the soil that my potatoes grew in.

I also grow my own potatoes. And carrots and greens and other vegetables, too, in a small plot in a community garden near my home in Seattle. Even apartment-dwelling, city kids can grow their own food. I also have an herb and lettuce garden on my balcony.

If I had to sum up my cooking style in a few words they would be: Fresh - less packaging = more flavor, Yo
Gluten-free - seriously changed my life
Approachable - tasty grub for all!
