Marilou Lissandrello
I am a native Californian but have been living in Florida for the past four years. I moved to Florida because of a business venture. Even though I did not become rich off of this venture, my life has been enriched because I meet the love of my life. After two years of dating, we had a small wedding of friends and family in Key West. In my humble opinion, Key West is the best place to get married. I have two wonderful adult sons that live in California and John has a son that lives here in Florida. We do not have any children together but have a little Shih-Tzu named Rocky who gets the royal treatment.
All of my life I have pretty much been able to eat anything anytime and not gain a lot of weight. I was very active during my high school and college days with being on different swim teams. I loved to play volleyball and snow ski. It wasn’t until after I turned 40-years-old that I realized my clothes were getting tighter and I was tired and depressed all of the time. It was then that I started reading books and magazines in search for the “perfect” diet. As you all know, there is no such thing as a “perfect” diet. No matter which diet you choose, it takes work, determination and motivation to stick with it.
During the past four months, my husband and I have started living a healthy life style which includes basic stuff, we all know, such as, more fruits and vegetables, lean proteins, and exercise. No more “diets”. Together we have lost 40 pounds and feel so much better about ourselves. It feels so good to go out and buy new clothes because the pants are falling off of you. Even though the changes on the outside are obvious, there are good changes going on inside also.
Out of this new weight loss, a passion for healthy cooking has developed. I’m constantly trying new healthy yet simple dinner recipes. As a result, my husband and I started our blog, EatRightTonight.net, to share the healthy recipes and nutritional information I’ve discovered with others.
Since this is a life long journey of healthy eating, I will come back and update you along the way.
Happy Healthy Eating!
