i have one Q of my own: could you list chopsticks among your tools? they have proven quite handy for me, from sauteing to mixing to tossing. the asians have used them for cooking over the centuries and americans may like to know the versatility of them. also i find them take the place of multiple common kitchen utensils.

hey thanks for the info! and as to your Q, yes, i can write with both hands. sadly my left hand is dominate over the right. i really have to focus in to write with my right. no cursive yet with that hand. but i am working on using chopsticks with my right. those work great to teach fine handling with non-dominate hands. you should try it, might help with yours.

Hello Barnaby -- I am really enjoying foodista, it's fun to contribute to and to read. I've noticed on a couple of my recipes that your are listed as someone who has edited them. I think I have been distinguishing all of my recipes as private (to not allow editing), but maybe I missed that step a couple of times. Either way, I can't tell what edits have occured.

Thanks again for making foodista available, it's great!

About Barnaby Dorfman

Hello and welcome! I'm the CEO of Foodista and a passionate contributor to the website. Originally from New York City, I grew up with a love of variety in food and culture. That interest has only been enhanced over the years while living in and traveling throughout Mexico, Spain, Italy, and the United States. My first professional cooking experiences were in high school during summers at the Alpine Inn in the Catskill Mountains. Later I worked for Taste Catering in San Francisco during college at California State University. After a short stint in my "official" area of study, international business, I joined my first startup, Marsee Baking, Portland's first all-scratch European style bakery. I left Marsee to go to the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth, followed by over a decade in technology management at startups and major companies, including Microsoft and Amazon.com. During 7 years at Amazon, I developed the first Gourmet Food category, created IMDbPro.com, and most recently served as Vice President of their A9 search division. Foodista.com, my fifth startup, offers me the opportunity to combine a lifelong love of cooking and technology! I look forward to meeting you, if only online, and learning from your cooking knowledge and experiences.
