About JenWaller
Ex-marketing communications manager, ex-project manager, ex-manager of project management turned grad student. I'm working towards an MLIS (Masters of Library and Information Science) at the University of Washington 's Information School . I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up.
Recently I've been thinking about local food systems (from an information behavior perspective) and heirloom seed saving (from an information organization perspective). I've also been thinking about Reference at a university that offers a PhD in Food Studies. I currently work in Educational Outreach at Suzzallo Library , and I'm loving ed outreach and instruction. And then there are cookbook libraries, like the one at Kathy Casey Food Studios where I have an internship. My thesis research will likely focus on how CSA subscribers use information, and I have a stronger than average background in information organization, information architecture, cataloging, and classification. I used to be a chef, and cooking is still one of my passions. I just don't like doing it professionally anymore.
