Question: how to make my cake dough perfect?

Ive tried to bake a cake my own using a recipe that i got from the blog. Ive known..i followed all the procedure, but in the end it end up wrong? sometimes the cake was quite a hard,. should i have to put more of baking powder? or is it in a long process of mixing?

Generally this happens if the cake has been over baked & if the recipe doesn't have typical proportions for dry vs. wet ingredients. I would tweak the recipe & bake time.
