People differ in opinion regarding substitute of cumin. The following things have been suggested by different people for use as a substitute of cumin - caraway seeds and anise seeds, sweet and smoked paprika, coriander, chilli powder, chipolte (having a smokey flavor like cumin). In Netherlands, Green shiso is used as cumin substitute.
