I enjoy making homemade BBQ sauces and have played with just about every type of ingredient in the icebox! I have used Apple Jelly, Peach Preserves, Fig Preserves, Grape Jelly, even Lemon Curd...all have turned out a tasty sauce. Go for it!

There is no reason why you can't. I'm assuming there are a bunch of ingredients in the BBQ sauce along with the preserves? It's not like you're spreading grape jelly over grilled meat.

I agree, why not? Both are sweet and fruity. I like to think of recipes as a guide and sometimes you have to punt if you don't have exactly what it called for. This is how happy accidents in cooking occur!

Why not? I just had some roast duck with grapes.
How did it turn out?

You can- though I'm not sure if you'd want grape jam on meats like chicken- too sweet. Apricot will be sweet but fruity.
