Assuming you mean 1 lb. ? Butter is somewhat of a commodity, meaning that the price will fluctuate between availability, seasonality and demand. It's often used by grocers as a loss leader to attract other sales, meaning they will practically give it away in order to get you into the store.
Currently non-sale prices in the Pacific Northwest average $3.49- $3.99/lb.

Butter is a commodity. The price will change depending upon the time of the year and where in the country you are buying it. Most all butter in the Pacific Northwest comes from a company named Turner & Pease...not matter what label the butter carries...it is all purchased from them. Check the store specials and buy a bunch when the price it right. Butter lasts for a long time in your refrigetrator.
