Make a marinade out of tomato sauce, chutney and worchestershire sauce with a pinch of sugar added. Liberally rub all over chicken and when it is warmed up in the over the marinade will make a lovely (almost like sticky ribs) coating. Chutney may be replaced with a little smooth apricot jam.

My go to marinade for chicken is usually freshly sliced garlic, chili flakes, fresh herbs and olive oil (push the sliced garlic to the side before grilling, as it will burn). A combination of chopped herbs works well; rosemary, thyme, oregano, and or parsely. Any or all of the above. Easy on the rosemary. Toward the end of grilling, squeeze fresh lemon juice over the chicken.
