Thai Basil is a small herb. It is a pointed and deep green colour leaf. The plant has purple stems with purple flowers. Its taste is sweet, comparatively milder than holy basil with a smell of anise. Thai Basil is used in relatively large quantities in dishes. Cinnamon Basil is a variant of basil. This leaf is 1 to 2 inches (2.5 to 5 cm) long. It is Glossy green in colour with tinge of brown and purple. Cinnamon Basil has a slightly spicy taste and if crushed, it gives the smell of anise and cinnamon. The plant also has small pink flowers.
