Question: Which is better - pie weights individually or on a chain?

I've always used metal pie weights (on a chain), but recently received a box of individual ceramic pie weights. Does anyone know if the different materials makes any difference when blind baking?

I think it's really mostly a matter of storage and cleaning...they all stay together in a chain making them easier to manage. One advantage to the loose ones is they can be divided up and used to make smaller tart crusts or other configurations.

I think it's personal preference. I like the individual ones so I can use them in a niumber of different sized crusts as Barnaby pointed out.
