Here is a cheap way to get cedar for plank cooking. I used to work at Lowe's and one day a guy from a local restaurant came in and got about 8 or 10 bundles of cedar shingles. I asked him what he was roofing as that is not enough for a house. I thought we would say something like a storage shed or a gazebo or something like that. What we said was they use them for cedar plank grilling. Just make sure you get the kind that has not been treated with chemicals. Lowe's carrys both chemically treated and untreated cedar shingles.

My favorite is also salmon, but I've also really enjoyed roasted root vegetables and halibut!
