Question: WHATS THIS A CENTER FOR ANTS?

February 28, 2011
The title of this post is a quote from the movie Zoolander. Its one my family and I use whenever a situation arises that we don't particularly like the outcome. For instance driving 30 miles to see a movie and its the wrong night. My situation today is . I love to cook and I love the taste of good food and lately I have been packing on the pounds. It's not a pretty picture. I am asking all you foodies out there how you do it. I mean keep cooking and eating and not gain weight. I already have one tip from a weight loss guru, to start drinking 2 glasses of ice water each morning and 30 minutes before each meal and he says you can lose up to 6 pounds in one year... Im down with that. Ill take any weight loss at this point. Please send me any of your tips. PS. Don't even mention giving up butter, no can do. http://www.wikihow.com/Do-the-%22Blue-Steel%22-Pose-from-Zoolander

It's all in portion sizes. If you eat smaller portions and get regular exercise, you'll be fine. It's almost too simple to be true- but it is.
Andrea Mitchell has a good story and advice on her blog and webpage. http://canyoustayfordinner.com/my-weight-loss-journey/

I find that if I cut out refined sugars and starches, I can control my weight even if I'm eating a lot. I then put more effort into preparing interesting vegetables that still satisfy my flavor/texture needs. I also like to play around a lot with sauces and spices.
