If your chicken base is unopened it will last for one year in the refrigerator. If you have opened it, chicken base should be used within one week.

Don't know where you get this from. If opened, 1 week?! That's just not true. I went to culinary school, and have been working in the restaurant industry for over 10 years. I have worked with these bases many times over the years. They contain enough salt to prevent any spoilage. Microorganisms are not able to survive in such a hypertonic medium. I would say these last ATLEAST a year when OPENED and refrigerated. Unopened would last much longer, but I don't know exactly how long.

With a tight lid on it chicken base can last for as long as it takes you to use it up. I have some bases in my fridge right now that have been there for years. It may not be quite as 'peak' as the day it was opened but you won't be able to tell when the stock made from it is used in some preparation.
