From their website:

"Ingredients:
SPICES (INCLUDING CHILI PEPPER, CUMIN, OREGANO, AND RED PEPPER), ONION, WHEY SOLIDS (MILK), SALT, SUGAR, PAPRIKA, GARLIC, POTATO STARCH, AND CITRIC ACID."

I think you can do without the milk solids and potato starch, which are just there for the consistency in the package, so that leaves a blend of paprika, chili powder, red pepper, cumin, oregano, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and sugar. For the citric acid, use fresh lime or lemon.

Their website also says it contains "no added MSG!" I have to wonder why they included the word "added." Is there MSG naturally in any of those ingredients?

Bag the seasoning mix. Saute diced onions & minced fresh garlic with ground beef until nearly cooked (as the last of the meat goes from red to brown), drain of excess grease, salt and pepper to taste, then stir in your favorite salsa. To spike it up another notch add some cumin. If you want it hotter add cayenne pepper to taste.

I mix up my own spices/ rubs, seasoning salts and pepper mixes at home. Much cheaper and fresher. To be perfectly honest, I don't want stuff like whey solids & potato starch muddling up my flavors. Try this mixture:

1 1/2 tablespoons chili powder
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon paprika (smoked if you have it)
1 1/2 teaspoons ground cumin
1 teaspoon sea salt
1 teaspoon black pepper

Mix the ingredients together & store in a dry container.
When using the mix add a little fresh lemon or lime juice to taste.
