Yams & Apples

Ingredients

2 cups thinly sliced apples
1/2 cup brown sugar or more
4 tablespoons butter

Preparation

Cook yams in small amount of water until nearly done. Peel them and cut into 1/2 inch slices. Cook the apples in small amount of water in covered pot (if they are not tart, sprinkle with lemon juice). Grease baking dish and alternate layers of yams and apples. Sprinkle layers with 1/2 cup brown sugar, dash of cinnamon. Dot with 4 tablespoons butter. Add 1/2 cup apple water or water. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
