Ingredients

1/2 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1 cup flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 cups chopped apples

Preparation

Mix ingredients. Bake in 8 x 8 inch pan, at 350 degrees for 40 minutes. Serve with vanilla sauce.

Boil 8 to 10 minutes. Serve warm.
