Wild Rice Casserole

Ingredients

1/4 cup butter
1/2 cup chopped onion
3/4 cup chopped celery
1/2 cup mushrooms
3 cups salt-free bouillon or chicken stock
1/2 teaspoon poultry seasoning
Salt and pepper optional
Toasted slivered almonds

Preparation

Brown rice, onion, and celery in the butter.

Add remaining ingredients and bring to a boil.

Reduce heat and simmer for 45 minutes or until rice is cooked.

Add meat. Stir. Sprinkle toasted almonds on top.

Domestic wild rice (which is black) must be soaked or boiled before it is added.
