Wash the rice. Soak in water for 1 hour. Drain. Wash the bamboo shoots, sliver, parboil, and drain. Shell the peas.

Combine all the ingredients. Bring to a boil. Cover, and reduceheat, and simmer for 15 minutes. Turn off heat, and allow to stand for 12 minutes. Do not peek, until the time is up.
