Recipe: Blackberry Liqueur edit

pounds ripe blackberries (14 cups) |

cups granulated sugar |

cups gin |

Step 1 |
Place the blackberries and sugar in a gallon glass jar. Place the jar in a warm place until the juice is drawn from the berries, about 8 hours. Press juices through a food mill or fine-mesh strainer; discard berries and seeds. |
Step 2 |
Wash jars or bottles, enough to hold 6 cups liquid. Measure out berry juice. |
Step 3 |
Measure out an equal amount of gin. Stir juice and gin together. Pour into the jars or bottles. Store in a cool, dark place for 3 months before serving. - |
