Anzac Biscuits

Ingredients

125 grams butter
1 tablespoon golden syrup
1 teaspoon bicarb of soda
2 tablespoons boiling water
1 cup flour, plain
1 cup sugar (caster)

Preparation

Melt butter and golden syrup over gentle heat, add bicarbonate of soda dissolved in water. Pour into mixed dry ingredients, mix well.

Drop teaspoons of mixture onto greased trays 5cm apart to allow for spreading.

Bake in a slow oven (320F) for 15-18 minutes.

Cool on trays a few minutes then remove to wire cooling rack.

A truly Australian biscuit.
