Chicken Paprika

Ingredients

3 pounds Whole Chicken
1 sm. onion
1 teaspoon paprika
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
Salt and pepper to taste
4 tablespoons flour
1 teaspoon milk

Preparation

Dice onion and saute in vegetable oil. Add paprika, salt and pepper. Then add the cut up chicken part. Simmer. . Add 4 to 5 cans of water. Cook until the chicken is done, about 50 minutes.

Thin the flour with water and add to the chicken. Cook until thickened. Set aside to cool. Thin the sour cream with the milk and add to the chicken.

I made this dish tonight with excellent results. I added a chopped green bell pepper and only used 3 cans of water (14 oz cans). 3 lbs of chicken seems like a lot, so I used 4 large chicken breasts; it was little saucy, so next time might halve the sour cream too. It seemed liquidy at first, but the flour really thickened it up. The yield says four servings, but might be more depending on how much you eat. Fortunately, the BF seemed to like it, so he won't mind eating it all week!
