Ingredients

2 cups scalded and cooled milk
1 cup raisins
1 cup diced citron
2 envelopes yeast, dissolved in ½ c. warm water
2 beaten eggs
1/2 cup melted shortening
2/3 cup sugar
2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon cardamom
8 cups flour

Preparation

Mix well and knead until smooth. Let rise until double. Form into loaves and place in greased pans. Let rise again until double. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-40 minutes.
