Recipe: Sausage And Apple Fry edit

smoked sausage ring |

sm. apples, sliced (not peeled) |

tablespoons brown sugar |
½ |
cup oatmeal |
2 |
tablespoons wheat germ |
¼ |
cup slivered almonds |
1 |
teaspoon minced ginger |
edit Preparation
Step 1 |
Steam sausage in 1 cup water until water has evaporated. Remove and cut into small pieces. Fry apples in cast iron skillet until tender. Do not overcook! Add brown sugar and 2 tablespoons water. Stir fry until sugar melts. |
Step 2 |
Remove apples to a round casserole. Place around edge. Add remaining ingredients with a little butter (tablespoon). Turn until lightly toasted. Remove and set aside. |
Step 3 |
Return sausage and brown quickly until heated through. Remove and place in center of casserole. Cover with toasted ingredients. Serve. |
