Turkish Rice With Fideos

Ingredients

1 1/2 cups of Rice- preferably long grain
2 cups of Water
3 teaspoons Butter
1/4 cup Fideo or Vermicelli
Salt to Taste

Preparation

Wash the rice.

In a sauce pan, melt the butter.

Add the fideo or vermicelli. Mix with a spoon until the fideo or vermicelli is brown.

Be careful, once it starts turning brown, it browns fast to where if you are not careful, it will burn.

Add the rice.

Mix for about 30 seconds.

Add the water.

Once it boils, simmer for about 15 minutes.

About

Turkish rice with fideos is a common rice recipe in Turkey. This is the type of rice my mom makes on a regular basis.The fideos give it a toasted taste which adds a lot of flavor to the rice. It is a huge favorite in comparison to regular, steamed rice.
