Savory French Toast (adapted from the LCBO magazine) Serves 2 large portions or 4 small portions 1 Large egg 1/4 cup egg white 2 tbsp milk 1 tsp honey ...

slices bread |

tablespoons Dijon Mustar |

teaspoon honey |
2 |
tablespoons milk |
2 |
slices ham |

cup grated parmesan |
2 |
tablespoons butter |
¼ |
cup maple syrup |
Step 1 |
Lightly whisk egg, egg white, honey and milk together. |
Step 2 |

Step 3 |
Sprinkle with 1/4 of the Parmesan. |
Step 4 |
Top with ham and sprinkle with 1/4 of the Parmesan. |
Step 5 |
Spread 1/2 of the goats cheese on each of the other two slices of bread and place goats cheese-side down. |
Step 6 |
Dip each side of the sandwich carefully into the egg mixture and they both have absorbed the liquid. |
Step 7 |
Preheat oven to 400°F. |
Step 8 |
Melt butter in a cast iron skillet large enough for the two sandwiches. Fry each one for about 5 minutes per side. Then put in the oven for about 5 minutes. |
