This Thanksgiving, why not give a cranberry coulis a try? This puree is a delicious sauce served with turkey and all of the fixings.

Yield: about 2 cups.

[edit] Ingredients

1

package (12 oz) fresh or frozen cranberries

1

cup Water

½

cup Orange juice

1 ½

cups Sugar

2

tablespoons cherry brandy

[edit] Preparation

Step 1

Rinse cranberries, discarding overripe berries. In a large saucepan, combine cranberries, water, and orange juice. Cover and bring to a boil; lower heat and cook for 7 to 10 minutes.

Step 2

Add sugar and simmer for 5 to 10 minutes.

Step 3

Add liquor and continue cooking for 2 to 3 more minutes.

Step 4

Cool lightly and serve.

**If necessary, you can sub orange liqueur for cherry brandy

** optional: Strain mixture through fine mesh strainer, after step one to discard skins and seeds.
