Best Spiked Lemonade

Ingredients

3/4 cup sugar
1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (from about 8 lemons)
6 ounces gin

Preparation

Prepare simple syrup by combining the sugar and 3/4 cup of water in a small saucepan.

Over medium-high heat, cook until the sugar dissolves.

When the mixture bubbles, turn the heat down and simmer for 2-3 minutes, until it thickens slightly.

Remove from the heat and let syrup cool for about 15 minutes

Combine the lemon juice and the sugar syrup in a punch bowl or pitcher.

Add 2 1/2 cups of water and gin.

Serve over ice and garnish with lemon slices.
