medium sweet potatoes, washed and cubed |

envelope/packet of chili seasoning |

ounce can whole peeled tomatoes - tomatoes cut into large chunks, juice reserved separately |

cup uncooked bulger wheat |

ounces cans black beans, thoroughly rinsed and drained |
Step 1 |
In a large pan, saute onions and garlic in olive oil, until onions are soft and everyone comes into the kitchen to ask what smells so good. |

Add sweet potatoes to the water and boil for 10-12 minutes. Sweet potatoes should still be slightly firm when forked. |

Reduce heat to a simmer, and add chili seasoning, tomatoes, bulger wheat. |
Step 5 |
Simmer 9-10 minutes, then add beans. If it seems a bit too thick, add some of the reserved tomato juice. |

On a scale of 1-10, where 1 = "this could be fed to a wee child" and 10 = "my face is on fire", this comes in at a fairly mild "4".
