cups sugar |

slab butter |

teaspoons salt |

(12 oz.) can evaporated milk |

jars (7 oz.) marshmallow fluff |
1 ½ |
teaspoons vanilla |

(12 oz.) pkgs. chocolate bits (vanilla bits, peanut butter bits, or butterscotch bits -optional - to make different fudges) |

Step 1 |
Combine first 5 ingredients. Stir over low heat until blended. Bring to a boil over moderate heat, being careful not to mistake air bubbles for boiling. Then boil slowly, stirring constantly, for 5 minutes. Remove from heat. Stir in chocolate bits and vanilla, stirring until chocolate is melted. Then turn into buttered two 9 x 9 inch pans and cool. (This is a double recipe.) |
